Afternoon in Mahone Bay

Finally, after about three weeks of rain, fog, and more rain, the sun came out. Yay! Let's go somewhere! We hopped into the minivan and headed into Mahone Bay. There's nothing in particular to go to yet, but the kids could run off some of that pent up energy.

Mahone Bay is a lovely little town on the south shore of Nova Scotia, about 50 miles from Halifax. It is a photographers' paradise. We got some really great photos. I hope you enjoy them.

This is the centre of town. There are great little shops and restaurants in this area.

I just love these fabric sheep. They stand outside the needlework shop. Aren't they adorable?

We stopped at the government wharf. The kids love to explore here.

A small pier a short distance from the main wharf.

Yachts in the harbour.

Two houseboats in the harbour. Aren't they great?

This is the magnificent view out to sea. There is a private residence on the island in the centre. There are over one hundred island off the coast of Mahone Bay.

These are the three churches that have appeared on so many post cards. From left to right they are Anglican, Lutheran, and United.

This is the harbour view of the Amos Pewter buildings.

Harbour view of central Main Street. The large grey structure houses condos.

Another view up the harbour.

One last look at the town. We had a great afternoon. I hope you enjoyed it with us.
